Michelle Williams In Talks To Star As Female Lead Opposite In Sony’s ‘Venom’

According to Variety, Michelle Williams is reportedly in talks to play the female lead opposite in Sony’s upcoming Venom movie.

Sources tell Variety that Williams’ would play a district attorney and possibly a love interest for Eddie Brock, Tom Hardy’s character who bonds with a symbiote to become one of Spider-Man’s signature villains, Venom.

That means her character could possibly be Ann Weying, Brock’s ex-wife. In the comics, Weying was a successful lawyer who later came into contact with the symbiote to become She-Venom after being shot by Sin-Eater. Sony has not confirmed Williams as Weying yet, but we won’t be surprise if they do.

Riz Ahmed is also on board for the Ruben Fleischer-directed film, according to the report. However, it is unclear what role he’ll be playing.

Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji) and Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower) will pen the script, with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing the movie, along with Amy Pascal.

Sadly, Sony has already made it clear that the film will play no part in the Spider-Man universe, and will stand on its own. Venom is expected to hit theaters on October 5, 2018.
