A Spyro the Dragon trilogy remaster is reportedly in the works, ladies and gentlemen.
According to Kotaku UK, sources close to the project have revealed that Activision is currently reworking the original trilogy (Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage!, Year of the Dragon), which will be announced sometime next month and released later this year.
The report compares its return to the recently-released Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, stating that it will include new assets, lighting, animation, cinematics, and a remastered soundtrack. Additionally, there’s also claims that the game will be a 1-year PS4 exclusive before hitting other consoles in 2019. However, that detail will not be part of the March announcement.
Can’t say that the news is much of a surprise, considering September 2018 marks the game’s 20th anniversary. Maybe fans expected it. I sure did. Stay tuned for confirmation from Sony and the PlayStation company.
