With so many current and former NBA stars making a move into the movie and TV business, Kevin Durant is readying his very own offering. According to Variety, the reigning NBA Finals MVP is partnering with Apple to develop a drama series based on his early life and career.
Titled “Swagger,” the scripted series will be inspired by KD’s youth basketball experience. It will explore the popular world of AAU basketball and the lives of players, their families, and coaches.
Durant’s Thirty Five Media will produce the project alongside Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Television. Durant will also handle executive producer duties, along with Imagine’s Francie California and Thirty Five Media’s Rich Kleiman. As far as the scripts go, Reggie Bythewood (Shots Fired, Notorious) is on the job.
