Get your dance partner ready, because the House Party franchise is officially making a comeback.
The seemingly surprise revival of the classic ’90s series is coming to us from the lab of New Line, NBA megastar LeBron James and his SpringHill Entertainment partner, Maverick Carter. To make things even better, Atlanta‘s Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori will pen the script.
“This is definitely not a reboot. It’s an entirely new look for a classic movie,” the 3x NBA champ told The Hollywood Reporter. “Everyone I grew up with loved House Party. To partner with this creative team to bring a new House Party to a new generation is unbelievable.”
Carter went on to tease cameos from musicians, and maybe a role for King James himself (maybe). “There’s no plan for it now, but he’s a fantastic actor, and if he wants a role, Stephen will find a great role to put him in.”
Let’s hope that Bron requests one. I mean, he dances all the time during games, so why not? Stay tuned for more news regarding the film. Not familiar with the previous releases? Check out the trailers below.
